Streszczenia
Objectives: The study is grounded in Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS) theory which understand high sensitivity as a temperamental trait affecting how individuals perceive and process stimuli from the environment. This framework, alongside Kabat-Zinn's mindfulness theory and Richardson's resilience model, suggests potential interconnections between these psychological constructs in determining subjective well-being. The aim of the conducted research was to analyze the relationship between SPS, mindfulness, resilience, and happiness. This investigation is particularly relevant as understanding how these psychological resources interact could inform targeted interventions for enhancing well-being. Material and methods: The study included 222 participants (64 men and 158 women). The Short Form of the Five Faces Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ-SF), the Brief Resilience Coping Scale (SPP-25), the Steen Happiness Index (SHI-PL), and the Highly Sensitive Person Scale (HSPS-10) were used. Results: The obtained results indicate the existence of positive relationships between mindfulness and the general dimension of quality of life. It was demonstrated that higher levels of SPS and higher personal resilience are associated with increased feelings of happiness. Conclusions: The findings suggest that mindfulness, SPS, and resilience are important psychological resources that contribute to subjective well-being. The positive correlation between these variables indicates potential pathways for interventions aimed at enhancing individuals' happiness. Future research should explore the mediating mechanisms between these variables and investigate how tailored mindfulness practices might benefit individuals with different levels of sensory processing sensitivity.
